Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Basis Law PLLC collects, uses, discloses, and protects information obtained through this website and the online services connected to it.

EFFECTIVE DATE: OCTOBER 2, 2026

Information We May Collect

The Basis Law PLLC website generally does not directly collect or store sensitive client, payment, or legal-matter information. Certain functions available through or embedded within the website are provided by third-party platforms, including Calendly for scheduling and Clio for certain client-intake, practice-management, communications, client-portal, and payment functions.

Depending on how you interact with the website and these services, Basis Law PLLC and its service providers may receive information such as your name, email address, telephone number, inquiry or scheduling information, communications, and other information you choose to provide.

The website and its service providers may also collect certain technical information, such as IP address, browser and device information, referring source, pages viewed, website interactions, and approximate location derived from technical information.

Contact Forms and Inquiries

Information submitted through a Basis Law PLLC inquiry form may be transmitted to third-party services used by the Firm for client intake, practice management, communications, and related business purposes, including Clio. The Firm may use this information to respond to an inquiry, maintain contact records, evaluate an inquiry or referral, conduct appropriate conflict screening, and communicate with you.
Submitting an inquiry or other information through this website does not create an attorney-client relationship. Please do not submit Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, passwords, detailed tax records, or other highly sensitive information through a general website form unless Basis Law PLLC specifically directs you to an appropriate secure method.

Online Scheduling

Basis Law PLLC uses Calendly to provide online scheduling through a scheduling tool embedded within this website. When you use the scheduling tool, information you provide—including your name, contact information, scheduling selections, and responses to scheduling or intake questions—is processed through Calendly rather than stored directly through the Firm’s WordPress website.

Calendly may also collect certain technical information and use cookies or similar technologies in connection with its embedded scheduling service. Information processed through Calendly is subject to Calendly’s applicable privacy practices.

Scheduling or paying for a consultation does not, by itself, establish an attorney-client relationship with Basis Law PLLC.

Clio and Firm Services

Basis Law PLLC uses Clio for certain practice-management, client-intake, communications, client-portal, and payment functions. Information submitted through Clio-powered forms or services may be processed and stored through Clio rather than directly through the Firm’s WordPress website.

When you make a payment using a Clio payment link or other Clio payment functionality, payment information is processed through the applicable payment service. Basis Law PLLC does not use its WordPress website to directly collect or store complete payment-card information.

Clio and its applicable service providers may process information in accordance with their respective terms and privacy practices.

How Information May Be Used

Basis Law PLLC may use information received through the website and connected services to respond to inquiries and communications; schedule and administer consultations; evaluate potential engagements and conduct conflict checks; provide legal services after an attorney-client relationship has been established; process payments; maintain appropriate business and client records; operate, secure, and improve Firm systems; understand website usage; send educational, informational, and marketing communications; and comply with applicable legal, ethical, professional-responsibility, security, and recordkeeping obligations.

Cookies and Analytics

Basis Law PLLC and third-party services used through the website may use cookies and similar technologies for website functionality, security, preferences, analytics, performance measurement, and related purposes.

In particular, the Calendly scheduling service embedded on this website may use cookies and similar technologies in connection with its services. Other analytics, search-performance, security, or similar technologies may also process technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, referring source, pages viewed, and interactions with the website.

You may be able to control certain cookies through your browser settings or cookie controls made available through the website. Disabling certain technologies may affect the operation of some website features.

Email and Marketing Communications

If you provide Basis Law PLLC with your email address, the Firm may use it to send communications related to your inquiry, consultation, legal services, or other interactions with the Firm. The Firm may also use your email address to send occasional Firm news, legal updates, educational resources, announcements, and other marketing communications.

You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link provided in those emails. Unsubscribing from marketing communications will not prevent the Firm from sending communications necessary to administer a consultation, respond to a request, process a transaction, provide requested services, communicate regarding an existing attorney-client relationship, or send other non-marketing communications.

How Information May Be Shared

Basis Law PLLC does not sell personal information.

The Firm may share information with service providers that assist with scheduling, practice management, client intake, communications, payment processing, website hosting, security, analytics, document management, and other Firm operations.

Information may also be disclosed to attorneys, co-counsel, consultants, experts, or other professionals when appropriate and permitted; when authorized or directed by you; when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, court orders, lawful governmental requests, or professional obligations; or when reasonably necessary to protect the Firm’s rights, systems, clients, or others.

Third-party service providers may process information in accordance with their agreements with Basis Law PLLC and, where applicable, their own privacy notices.

Security and Data Retention

Basis Law PLLC uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information within the Firm’s control and relies on third-party service providers to support the security and operation of certain Firm systems. However, no method of internet transmission, electronic storage, or information-security system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and as appropriate to operate the Firm, maintain business and client records, provide legal services, conduct conflict checks, resolve disputes, maintain security, and satisfy applicable legal, ethical, professional-responsibility, and recordkeeping obligations.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the nature of the Firm’s relationship with you.

Your Privacy Choices and Requests

You may contact Basis Law PLLC with questions about this Privacy Policy or requests concerning personal information maintained by the Firm. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information.

Whether a particular request can be fulfilled may depend on the nature of the information, the Firm’s relationship with you, and applicable legal, ethical, professional-responsibility, conflict-checking, security, and recordkeeping obligations.

You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in those communications.

Third-Party Services

This website contains links to and integrations with services operated by third parties. When you interact with a third-party service, that provider may process information under its own terms and privacy practices.

Basis Law PLLC and its service providers may process or store information using systems located in the United States or other jurisdictions in which those providers operate. Privacy and data-protection laws may differ among jurisdictions.

Children’s Privacy

This website and Basis Law PLLC’s legal services are not directed to children. The Firm does not knowingly use this website to solicit personal information directly from children. If you believe that a child has submitted personal information through the website without appropriate authorization, please contact the Firm.
